A research laboratory and strategic consulting firm in industrial ecology applied to the built environment.

We leverage systems thinking and foresight to support private sector actors, public institutions, and civil society organizations across the entire value chain of the construction industry —from materials to regulation— in bridging the gaps between climate mitigation, circularity, adaptation, and industrial transformation.

ACCREDITATIONS 〰️

The French Research Tax Credit (Crédit d’Impôt Recherche, or CIR — literally “Research Tax Credit”) is a government incentive that supports companies investing in research and development (R&D).

Beyond its financial benefit, the CIR is also a strong signal of a company’s profile and capabilities. Eligibility is subject to review by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, which assesses the scientific and technical nature of the company’s work, and indicates that a company conducts rigorous research aligned with recognized scientific or technological challenges. It reflects a structured approach to innovation, the mobilization of qualified expertise, and the ability to generate new knowledge rather than simply apply existing solutions. In this sense, CIR accreditation highlights companies that operate at the frontier of innovation, demonstrating their commitment to long-term value creation, technical excellence, and contribution to broader economic and societal progress.

The French Young Innovative Company status (Jeune Entreprise Innovante, or JEI — “Young Innovative Enterprise”) is a public scheme designed to support companies that place research and development (R&D) at the core of their activity. It provides significant tax and social security exemptions, helping reinvest resources into innovation.

Beyond these financial advantages, JEI status is a strong marker of a company’s identity and ambition. To qualify, a company must meet strict criteria related to the intensity of its R&D efforts. This status is granted following a review by the French tax authorities in coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, ensuring that the company’s projects involve genuine scientific innovation. Recognition signals deep commitment to pushing the boundaries of knowledge, structuring its development around innovation, and building long-term value through high-impact research.

Discover our services

  • Our basic services provide foundational credibility and awareness for organizations operating in the construction sector. This includes integrity assessments of sustainability claims, combining literature reviews, patent landscape analyses, and quantitative evaluations to identify greenwashing risks and ensure credible sustainability narratives. We also offer targeted knowledge updates through tailored presentations and reports, keeping stakeholders informed of under-the-radar developments in sustainability science, sectoral externalities, and emerging regulatory trends. Finally, our strategic communication support helps organizations craft public statements and position papers that align with scientific evidence and regulatory foresight, strengthening both credibility and influence in sustainability debates.

  • Our intermediary services bridge intelligence and strategy, helping organizations translate insights into actionable planning. Through sectoral diagnostics and benchmarking, we provide a clear view of current sustainability performance, alignment with regulatory frameworks, and positioning relative to peers. Scenario analyses of regulatory and market transitions stress-test strategies under plausible futures, including evolving carbon pricing, LCA standards, and supply-chain transparency requirements. Additionally, stakeholder executive briefs synthesize complex scientific, regulatory, and industry developments for decision-makers, fostering internal alignment and supporting informed strategic choices.

  • Our advanced services focus on strategic co-design and long-term positioning across the construction sector. We support supply-side actors (e.g., material industries) with transition roadmaps that integrate peer-reviewed publications and strategic influence initiatives, helping them demonstrate genuine sustainability and align with public-sector decarbonisation frameworks to unlock financing and regulatory advantages. For demand-side stakeholders (e.g., building and construction groups), we define sectoral transition objectives aligned with commitments and projected regulatory evolution, ensuring proactive positioning ahead of market and policy changes. We also collaborate with regulatory and policy actors, providing systemic analyses of industry challenges, sustainability externalities, and innovation trajectories to design forward-looking frameworks that enable credible, large-scale sustainability transitions.

The Lab’s vision

Our lab envisions a construction sector where innovation often outpaces regulation, and where genuine sustainability can be difficult to discern. We help identify actors delivering real environmental and social value, and support them in scaling their solutions by integrating strategically into the evolving industry landscape.
